CMCA - Homeownership: "Bringing Home the Dream"
Preparing for homeownership: Area you ready to own your own home? How much home can you afford? How does your credit affect your ability to purchase a home?
Shopping for a home: Finding the "right" house. Working with a real estate professional. Real estate contract and the home inspection.
Obtaining a mortgage: Pre-qualifications v pre-approval. Types of loans and predatory lenders. What are PITI and PMI?
Closing: Closing process, documentation and closing costs
Life as a Homeowner: Delinquency and foreclosure prevention. Household budgeting. Repair and maintenance. Energy Management.
This course meets the pre-purchase education requirements for the USDA Direct Home Loan program and all participants who complete the 4-hour class will receive a certificate of completion.
