We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Legal Assistant to support our attorneys across a diverse range of practice areas. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and takes pride in keeping cases, documents, and attorneys organized and on track.Practice Areas You’ll Support
The Legal Assistant will work alongside attorneys handling matters in:- Estate Planning
- Probate (including decedent’s estates, guardianships, and conservatorships)
- Family Law
- Business Formation and Entity Maintenance
- Real Estate Transactions and Litigation
- General Civil Litigation
- Municipal Law
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, filings, and correspondence
- File pleadings and legal documents with Missouri and federal courts through e-filing
- Track case deadlines and maintain both digital and physical tickler systems
- Assist with intake, scheduling, and client communication
- Support attorneys with case management and trial preparation
- Handle file organization, document scanning, and database updates
- Draft letters and basic legal forms with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain confidentiality and professional communication at all times
Qualifications
- Experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology, particularly in Missouri
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel); familiarity with legal practice management software a plus
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Preferred Traits
- Knowledge of Missouri probate and court filing procedures
- Familiarity with real estate transfer and closing documents
- Familiarity with court pleadings, subpoena, summons, and other court documents
- Proactive, dependable, and comfortable learning new tools or systems
- Team player with a strong work ethic and client-focused mindset
