EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants/employees shall conform to both state and federal law and the County complies with the federal drug free workplace requirements. Listed below the qualifications that a successful candidate will have.
  • Requirements for Callaway County Deputy Sheriff:

    Applicants must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent with a valid POST Certification. Applicants must be of good moral character, have no felony or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions, be able to type 30 words per minute, be of appropriate physical and mental health to meet the stringent physical and emotional demands of the profession, and pass pre-employment testing; including but not limited to: written exercise, comprehension examination, fitness test, and be able to pass background checks including drug testing, truth verification examination (CVSA), and final review board.  Applicants must be able to speak, hear, read, and write English and have the ability to touch, smell, and distinguish colors. Applicants must be willing to work any shift including weekends and must be willing to take up actual physical residency in Callaway County within six moths of date of hire.
