Business Engagement Coordinator
Position Summary
The Business Engagement Coordinator is a relationship-driven sales and outreach position responsible for growing, retaining, and strengthening Chamber membership. This role serves as a primary connector between the Chamber and the business community, ensuring members understand and receive value from their membership while being actively engaged in Chamber programs and resources. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting new people, building meaningful relationships, and being visible and active in the community. This position reports directly to the Chamber CEO.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreakings for new and expanding businesses
  • Plan and execute The Local Lemon and Pitch Competitions
  • Prepare and distribute New Member Packets and ensure a positive onboarding experience
  • Conduct membership sales, retention, and engagement visits with current and prospective members
  • Build strong relationships with small businesses to understand their needs and help problem-solve
  • Connect members to appropriate Chamber programs and community resources
  • Educate members on the value, benefits, and opportunities associated with Chamber membership
  • Maintain and update accurate member information in the Chamber database
  • Support ongoing relationship-building efforts through regular communication and follow-up
  • Collaborate with Chamber staff to support overall membership and engagement goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Sales-oriented mindset with a passion for community engagement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Proficient computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and Chamber database systems
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Comfortable representing the Chamber in public and professional settings
  • Self-motivated, organized, and dependable

Work Environment & Expectations
  • This position requires regular in-person interaction with businesses and community members
  • Frequent local travel within the community for meetings and events
  • Occasional evening or early-morning commitments for Chamber events
