Callaway County Maintains Certified Work Ready Community Status
CALLAWAY COUNTY, MO – The Callaway Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Callaway County has once again been recertified as a Missouri Certified Work Ready Community, continuing a designation the county has held since May 2017.
The Certified Work Ready Community initiative, powered by ACT Work Ready Communities, recognizes communities that are committed to developing a skilled workforce aligned with employer needs. The program connects education, workforce partners, and local industries to ensure residents are equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in today’s job market.
A key component of the program is the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), a nationally recognized credential earned by individuals who demonstrate proficiency in essential workplace skills such as applied math, reading for information, and problem-solving. Local employers play a vital role by recognizing this credential in hiring and workforce development efforts.
“Maintaining our Work Ready Community status is a strong reflection of the continued collaboration between our local businesses, educators, workforce partners, and community leaders,” said Tamara Tateosian, CEO of the Callaway Chamber of Commerce. “This achievement reinforces Callaway County’s commitment to building a strong talent pipeline and supporting long-term economic success.”

To achieve and maintain certification, communities must meet rigorous benchmarks related to workforce skill attainment and employer engagement. Callaway County’s continued certification reflects ongoing efforts to support both job seekers and employers through workforce training, education, and strategic partnerships.
Since first earning certification in 2017, Callaway County has continued to strengthen its workforce and enhance opportunities for residents and businesses alike.
