Missouri Chamber of Commerce to begin major upgrades to Jefferson City headquarters

Leaders from across Missouri gathered in Jefferson City on Tuesday to celebrate significant upgrades to the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Chamber President and CEO Kara Corches said the group's headquarters will be completely transformed, thanks to a major demolition and renovation project slated to begin this week.

 

Located on East Capitol Avenue, Corches said the building was built in the 1970's and has been the Chamber's home for nearly 50 years.

Renovations will include a rooftop terrace overlooking the Missouri State Capitol, event space for more than 230 guests, drop-in workspaces for Missouri Chamber members and more.

Corches said the Chamber has represented thousands of Missouri employers for 103 years, adding the renovations will help continue this mission.

"The Missouri Chamber exists to fight for business in the Capital, so we are so excited to have a building that is intentionally designed to increase our impact, allow members to visit Jefferson City more with dedicated office space for them and to fight for business at the Capitol and the ballot box in a bigger way," Corches said.

Gov. Mike Kehoe and Jefferson City Mayor Ron Fitzwater were also on hand for Tuesday's ceremony.

"They represent every major company in the state of Missouri. Obviously, they're very engaged at the Capitol, bringing people into town," Fitzwater said. "They are a huge piece of our economic development. We're so proud to be the Capital city and we're so proud that they've made a commitment to have their headquarters here."
Corches said crews will begin demolition on the building this week. The Chamber hoped to have the building complete by July 2027.
