General Worker
Job Summary:
As the General Worker you are responsible for the overall support of all bindery functions. You will assist Bindery Tech’s in feeding pockets, placing products in boxes/skids, and staging the machines. The General Worker must have strong communication skills to ensure management is being informed on matters of importance which include production, quality, repairs, and/or safety.
Essential Functions:
• Understand and execute the incoming job tickets and layouts.
• Takes off magazines and place them in boxes, mail totes, or directly on skids that are up to 50 lbs and moves skids to either mailroom or shipping/receiving.
• Ensures that work is consistently produced at established quality standards; passes on zero defects to internal customers; and resolves problems before they become too costly.
• Notify department lead of inventory and supplies that need to be ordered.
• Maintain equipment and issues related to safety, productivity, quality, and service by keeping a clean and safe working environment.
• Cross train on all bindery equipment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
• Complete minor bindery equipment repairs.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
• Required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• May be required to lift, carry, or exert items or objects up to 50 lbs.
• Required to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a loud noise environment.
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
