Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team here at Walsworth - Fulton. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep of all production equipment and physical assets within our facility. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring optimal operating conditions, maintaining productivity, and upholding safety standards. Additionally, you will provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain production equipment throughout the plant to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Ability to work on, fix, and update PLC's as needed.
• Utilize problem solving skills to address issues promptly, maintaining productivity, quality, and safety.
• Provide guidance on the proper care and maintenance of the equipment to production team members.
• Report irregularities to appropriate leadership.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of PPE, ergonomic practices, and handling chemical hazards.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications.
• Document all repairs in the maintenance repair request program.
• Identify and report machine parts and items needed by/for other departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Must have welding and fabrication skills for design/build projects and equipment repairs.
• Experience and proficiency in working with PLCs in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of shop tools, equipment and maintenance practices.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
• Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to interface with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis.
• Ability to work with limited direction and supervision, while demonstrating good judgment and strict confidence.
• Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
• Must successfully complete any training or certification courses required to support or strengthen position.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
• Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from floor to waist and waist to shoulder height.
• Able to work in static positions for more than 15 minutes and work in tight spaces in and around machinery.
• Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
• May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
• May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
• May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
• May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.
• May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in an industrial maintenance setting is preferred.
